Mr. Ho Gyeong CHOO is a legal counsel at DR & AJU LLC. His practice is primarily focused on Transportation, Industrial Accident, Healthcare & Environment, Criminal Defense Litigation, Administrative Procedure & Litigation, Finance & Restructuring.
Mr. CHOO has been in charge of health and medical affairs since he was a first-time prosecutor, investigating major cases such as issuance of fraudulent death certificates, Odaeyang mass suicide, and the smuggling of cocaine from Colombia. He obtained a doctorate in Public Health from Seoul National University Graduate School of Public Health and founded the Korean Society of Law and Medicine for interdisciplinary research in medicine and law. He is a healthcare expert who has lectured on forensic medical disputes at Seoul National University, Yonsei University, and Korea University. In particular, he published <Claim for Damages in Medical Malpractice Case> as a textbook when he was a professor at the Judicial Research and Training Institute, which has long been used as the only textbook for judges and lawyers in charge of medical cases.
After practicing as a lawyer, he served as a legal counsel to the Korean Hospital Association, Korea Life Insurance Association, and Incheon Port Authority, and as a member of Prime Minister’s Administrative Appeals Commission and a member of the Health Insurance Dispute Mediation Committee of the Ministry of Health and Welfare. He was inaugurated as the first president of the Korea Medical Dispute Mediation and Arbitration Agency, which was established in 2012, and laid a new foundation for resolving medical disputes.
