On February 26, DR & AJU and the Korean Society of Legislation Studies signed an MOU to enhance mutual cooperation on legislative policies. The agreement establishes the Korea Legislative Forum, which will organize joint events on major legislative policy matters, facilitate human resource exchanges for developing legislative policy experts, and promote collaborative activities.
The Korea Legislative Forum will hold monthly seminars at the National Assembly. Professor Emeritus Dai-Kwon CHOI of Seoul National University, a pioneer in Korea’s legislative studies, has been appointed as the representative of the Forum’s steering committee. Wan Sik HONG, a professor at Konkuk University’s Graduate School of Law and former head of the Korean Society of Legislation Studies, will serve as operations director. Dong Eon CHA, Head of DR & AJU’s Legislation & Government Relations Consulting Center, and Seung Cheol LEE, Senior Advisor at DR & AJU and former Vice President of the Federation of Korean Industries, will join as steering committee members.
Managing Partner Kyu Chul LEE stated, “The volume of legislative bills submitted to and passed by the National Assembly has been continuously rising, with growing demand for legislative advisory. Through this MOU, we aim to provide a channel for various stakeholders, including businesses, to have their voices reflected in the legislative process.”
