On May 15, DR & AJU co-hosted the “2025 Serious Accidents Prevention Act (SAPA) Forum” with Daehan Economy at the Construction Hall in Nonhyeon-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul. The forum was themed “Prevention Solutions and Post-Accident Response Strategies for Serious Accidents.” 

The forum featured in-depth discussions on strategies for fulfilling safety and health obligations tailored to the construction industry, as well as on building a safety-oriented community through mutual cooperation between primary contractors and subcontractors. 

The forum was organized into three sessions. 

In Session 1, Partner Young Kyu KIM, Head of the Prevention Team of DR & AJU’s Serious Accident Response Group, delivered a presentation on “Analysis of Investigation Trends and Response Strategies under the SAPA.” 

In Session 2, Professor Jin Woo JUNG from the Department of Safety Engineering at Seoul National University of Science and Technology presented on “Case Studies of SAPA-Related Rulings and Measures for Fulfilling Safety and Health Obligations.” 

In Session 3, Partner Dong Eeon CHA, Head of DR & AJU’s Serious Accident Response Group, discussed “Preventive Compliance Solutions for the SAPA.” 

The forum proved to be a valuable opportunity to explore practical safety solutions customized for different workplace environments of varying sizes and characteristics, and to discuss strategies for addressing legal risks. It concluded on a high note, receiving enthusiastic responses from participants.
