DR & AJU Sponsors Successful NYSBA Seoul Global Conference 2024 Event
The Seoul Global Conference 2024, hosted by the New York State Bar Association (NYSBA) — the largest bar association in the United States — took place from October 16 to 18 at Hanyang University's Hanyang Institute of Technology (HIT). Sponsored by leading international and domestic law firms, including DR & AJU, the event was a resounding success, drawing over 500 participants from the legal profession.
Under the theme “Cross-Border Litigation and Transactions under a New Legal Paradigm,” the conference offered a meaningful platform for participants to discuss the evolving role of legal circles amidst the challenges posed by rapid technological and socioeconomic shifts.
Notably, several prominent legal experts from DR & AJU spoke at the event:
On October 16, Foreign Attorney Catherine (Kyeong) Kim served as a panelist in the afternoon session, "Cross-Border Litigation for U.S. and Korean Businesses: Practical Tips."
On October 17, Foreign Attorney Timothy Dickens, Head of DR & AJU’s Africa Practice Group and President of the South African Chamber of Commerce, moderated the morning session, "What to Do When Your Company or Client is Hacked."
On October 18, Partner Dong Eon Cha, Director of Business Development at DR & AJU, contributed as a panelist in the session, "Practical Issues of Legal AI: From Legal Eagles to Robo-Gavels," where he led insightful discussions on the impact of AI on the legal profession.
Attendees included a diverse mix of professionals, such as corporate executives, judges, prosecutors, lawyers, patent attorneys, and professors from around the globe. The conference provided an invaluable opportunity for networking and sharing the latest legal insights and practical experiences.
