DR & AJU Secures KRW 133.5 Billion in Damages for Military Fuel Supply Collusion Case
DR & AJU represented the Defense Acquisition Program Administration (DAPA) in a lawsuit for damages against five oil companies for prior collusion during the bidding process for military fuel supply.
This case is meaningful as the first domestic lawsuit for damages resulting from collusion. Following the court ruling, KRW 135.5 billion in damages was fully awarded to the national treasury on August 20.
DR & AJU’s Partner Dong Yang CHO represented the DAPA (the plaintiff), while Kim & Chang, Bae, Kim & LEE, and Lee & Ko represented the five oil companies (the defendants). This case provided us with valuable experience and expertise in handling damage claims related to collusion. Additionally, it is expected that claims for damages against colluding entities by victims, such as states or consumers, will continue to increase.
