DR & AJU Advises Kangwon Land on Personal Information Management

DR & AJU advised Kangwon Land (“Client”) on personal information management for a period of 90 days, covering all its business areas, including the casino, hotel and resort, and ski resort. The advisory services included: (i) Visiting Client, conducting face-to-face interviews with on-site managers, and thoroughly reviewing all documents related to personal data to assess the current status and diagnose issues with personal information processing practices (such as collection, retention, use, entrustment, provision to third parties, and disposal) by departments; (ii) Providing personal information management manuals and detailed business-specific manuals for operational departments; (iii) Supplying various standard forms, including personal information protection guidelines, personal information collection consent forms, and third-party provision consent forms; (iv) Providing legal opinions on various inquiries related to personal information from different departments or business areas; (v) Conducting training on personal information protection.

Specifically, we ensured the handling of Client’s personal information was both lawful and efficient. This involved securing legal compliance in the collection of personal information, addressing sensitive information or unique identification numbers, such as resident registration numbers, and finding a proper balance between responding to requests from regulatory authorities, such as investigative agencies, the National Assembly, and audit agencies, and protecting the personal information of Client’s customers.
